Venue Illustration: Campbell Point House
Using venue illustrations in your wedding invitations can add a unique and personal touch that reflects your individuality. Hand-drawn illustrations have a dynamic quality, making them a perfect complement to a variety of design aesthetics.
Campbell Point House is a luxurious wedding venue located in Leopold, Victoria, Australia. This stunning venue is situated on 37 acres of manicured gardens, and offers breathtaking views of Lake Connewarre. The house was built in 1901 and has since been restored to its former glory, featuring elegant interiors, high ceilings, and exquisite details. The venue offers a variety of ceremony and reception options, both indoors and outdoors. With its picturesque setting, Campbell Point House is the perfect location for a dream wedding.
Creating the illustration
The process of creating each venue illustration is a meticulous one, which involves a great deal of attention to detail. Every illustration is crafted by hand, using traditional pen techniques on paper. The initial sketches are carefully outlined with a pencil, and then refined with pen strokes to bring out the finer details. I take care to create a sense of depth and form in the building and the surrounding scene.
In order to achieve this, I often use a variety of line techniques to accentuate the key features of the building and the landscape. In this particular illustration, for example, I have used fine lines to bring out the detailing of the hedges and plants that surround the building. The building itself I have kept quite simple in tone, to allow it to stand out. I find that incorporating elements of greenery and surroundings into my illustrations adds a sense of context and depth, which enhances the overall aesthetic appeal of the image.

Other illustrations
Illustrations can be of your ceremony or reception venue, the view or surrounding landscape, a significant landmark or perhaps even a place of meaning to you as a couple. Anything goes really! I've created drawings of old churches, hillsides, islands, boats and vistas, and all work equally well. Feel free to contact me with your venue details and ideas before requesting a quote to see what might be possible.
Commission a Custom Illustration
A custom illustration can be a beautiful way to personalise your wedding invitations, save the dates, information cards or programs. Custom illustrations can be added to any of our suites, not just those that feature a sample venue illustration. To begin, we recommend getting in touch to discuss your illustration ideas and options for your suite as well as to receive a quote. If your subject is suitable, there may be some discussion about the important elements to include or angle you'd like to see in the design. Note that I normally like to capture buildings from oblique angle as this adds depth and form.
We offer a number of invitation suites which feature venue illustrations as an integral part of the design style. However, you can also add a venue illustration to any of our suites. You can also use the illustration on different pieces - Information cards, Save the dates, Custom Maps, Menus, Program Covers - the options are endless. See our Illustrations page for more information and examples.
