Venue Illustrations for your Wedding Stationery
Right from the beginning, our design aesthetic has been very much based on hand-drawn illustrations. One of my favourite subjects for wedding stationery is florals - roses, hydrangeas, peonies, anything really! Lately, venue illustrations have become a more important part of my style.
Venue illustrations are completely hand drawn by me and lots of time and skill goes into each drawing. Creating these illustrations is one of my favourite parts of the design process. I feel honoured to be given the opportunity to create a custom illustration for my couples.
Venue illustrations are a lovely way to add a custom touch to your wedding stationery. They can be used on your Save the date, Invitation, Envelope Liner, Custom map or Program Cover. Fine line drawings print beautifully letterpress and this printing medium is perfect for bringing out illustration details.
Save the Date
A unique way to incorporate venue illustrations into your wedding stationery is by putting it on your save the date. This is a great option if you want to give your guests a quick view of your wedding setting - be it a garden or outdoor ceremony or a beautiful old church. This is also a lovely option if you want to keep your invitation design simple.
Wedding Invitation
Another option is to include your venue on your invitation design. This is a great idea if you feel your venue to be an important part of your overall wedding style.
Envelope Liner
A great way of including a venue illustration in your suite is to use it on your envelope liner. This is a lovely option for keeping it as part of your wedding invitation set but without printing it on your Invitation itself.
Information / Details Card
Information or Details cards usually include any extra information about your wedding that you'd rather not have on the invitation itself. If this includes information about your venue(s), this can be the perfect place to add an illustration.
Custom Map
If you include a custom map as part of your invitation set, the design can include a small illustration of your ceremony or reception locations. These can be incorporated into the map as part of the directions for a beautiful and personalised design.
Program Cover / Service Cover
A popular option for couples is to include their ceremony location on the cover of their program booklet (also known as a service booklet). Even if you opt for a simple design style, a venue illustration can be a great way to customise your Program cover and makes a beautiful keepsake.
